When it comes to Color Matching and quality control, consistency and repeat-ability are of great importance to printers.
We at Rowat Inks meet these demands with a variety of color matching services, both at our manufacturing site as well as in-house. In the past, ink formulators relied on a skilled eye to match colors. While a trained eye is still required, our ink formulators now have a variety of technologies to aid them.
Press Finger Print
A Fingerprint Trials primary objective is to measure and record the print characteristics of a particular press, operating with specific settings and materials. The specific settings and materials are determined, in part, by the customerʼs design requirements and by printer experience or optimization trials (best anilox for each deck, optimized ink formulation, best mounting tape, etc.).
We can help you to..
- Manage and control press variables.
- Work towards tighter tolerances.
- Achieve optimal print repeat-ability.
- Maximize print quality.
- Implementing a standard.
Understanding of color management, color space conversions, terminology, and essentially what’s really going on, has a high learning curve. High-end color matching requires in-depth knowledge of a wide assortment of issues, as well as learning how to use related software and hardware.
At the consumer-end, things are getting better and easier to understand and implement, while at the same time cost is coming down. However, it’s still not as simple as push button color.
Due to the high learning curve, it is often necessary to hire a trainer/consultant who can plan a workflow, make recommendations, put it all together, and then provide effective training. A good consultant will implement workflow that can be effectively used very quickly, recouping the investment in their time rapidly. We can help you to achieve the goals you set in this field.
